Course Description

The aim of this course is to provide the student with a general understanding of the main elements of business law and their relevance in the workplace. The focus of the course is on both the theoretical basis of the law of business and its practical implications on a business. It is suitable for individuals who wish to prepare for further study in this area and also for those who need a general understanding of the laws which impact on business.

Assessment

Business law will be assessed by way of two “during term” assignments. Each of these assignments will be worth 30% of the students overall grade. The remaining 40% will be assessed by way of a theory based exam.

This form of assessment will ensure that the student can use what they have learned in a practical manner and will equip them with enough knowledge to be legally competent in the business sector.  
 
On completion of the course, students will receive a FETAC level 5 Component Certificate in “Business Law”
