LEAVING CERTIFICATE
HIGHER IRISH (ADULT)
Introduction:
This course is specifically designed for adults wishing to get a C3 or higher in Leaving Certificate Higher Irish, which is an entry requirement for those wishing to study Primary Teaching at Irish Colleges of Education. It is intended for those who are no longer in 2nd level education.
Term:
The term commences 21st September 2009 and finishes at the end of May 2010. The course duration is 29 weeks. Classes will not take place during normal Department of Education school holidays.
Hours:
Classes will take place on Monday evenings from 7 – 9pm.
Fees:
Fees for the full year are €795, payable in full on enrolment. Students may join the class at any time after the commencement of the course. In this case fees will be charged on a reducing scale.
Facilities:
The Belvedere Institute of Education is situated in a bright, modern building which has the most up-to-date learning materials, wireless broadband access and brand new facilities. All our classrooms are air-conditioned and comfortable. We are situated in the centre of town, close to car-parking and other amenities.
What can I expect?
This course is now in its 4th year. Results for the last three years have been very successful with the vast majority of students who attended the class achieving a C3 or higher. You should be ready for some hard work as the Leaving Cert Irish course is tough, however you will have lots of support both from your teacher and fellow class members. Don’t worry if you feel your Irish is a bit rusty – you won’t be alone!!
