LEAVING CERTIFICATE
ORDINARY MATHS (ADULT)
Introduction:
This course is specifically designed for adults who want to achieve a pass in Leaving Cert Ordinary level Maths.
The course is suitable for those who are applying for a job or 3rd level course where a pass in Maths is a requirement. It is intended for those who are no longer in 2nd level education.
Term:
The term commences 21st September 2009 and finishes at the end of May 2010. The course duration is 29 weeks. Classes will not take place during normal Department of Education school holidays.
Hours:
Classes will take place on Monday evenings from 7 – 9pm.
Fees:
The fee for the full year is €650, payable in full on enrolment. Students may join the class at any time after the commencement of the course. In this case fees will be charged on a reducing scale.
Facilities:
The Belvedere Institute of Education is situated in a bright, modern building which has the most up-to-date learning materials, wireless broadband access and brand new facilities. All our classrooms are air-conditioned and comfortable. We are situated in the centre of town, close to car-parking and other amenities.
What can I expect?
Many people dread maths and the mere thought of it makes us get shivers of apprehension.
Don’t worry, your tutor’s love of maths and enthusiasm for the subject is infectious. We understand that you may have been out of the education system for a while and you will not be asked to do anything your teacher doesn’t think you’re able for. You will start from the basics and work with emphasis on the Leaving Cert exam.
Needless to say, you should be ready for some hard work and extra study outside class time, however you will have lots of support both from your teacher and fellow class members.
