Belvedere Institute Mullingar Summer School is an English language and activity programme suitable for boys and girls aged 12-17 years. Students receive 15 hours language tuition per week together with a full programme of activities and excursions. Courses take place in June, July and August and students can stay for 2, 3 or 4 weeks.

Belvedere Institute is located in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath in the centre of Ireland.
The school is located in the centre of the town, close to all amenities.  We are Department of Education recognised and inspected. All our teachers are fully qualified and experienced native English speakers

15 hours of group English language tuition per week in 5 morning lessons: Monday to Friday 9.30-13.00
Class size: maximum 15 students per class.
Our approach is to allow students to learn in a fun, interactive way focussing on improving grammatical accuracy and increasing vocabulary which leads to improved fluency. Students are immersed in an English speaking environment and are actively discouraged from speaking their native language throughout the programme. Students have the opportunity to practice what they learn in class at home with their host family and during activities and excursions.

Registration fee, group airport transfers (Dublin airport), placement test, materials, tuition, activities, accommodation and meals.

Our students are accommodated with local Irish host
families. We feel that this is the best way for the student to practice their language and also give them the invaluable cultural experience of living as part of an Irish family. Host families provide a private room, all meals (packed lunches Monday – Friday and on excursion days) and laundry for the student. Towels and bed linen are also provided.
All homes are personally inspected by the course director.

Our Summer School Programme has an extensive afternoon activity programme which caters for all interests. Our sports programme includes soccer, basketball, traditional gaelic sports, rugby, swimming, table tennis etc. Other afternoon activities include Irish dancing, quiz, treasure hunt, art and crafts, drama, computers etc.

Students can also participate in evening activities three evenings per week. These activities take place under supervision in the school and provide a safe environment for students to socialise and further practice their English.

Full and half day excursions are very important part of the Summer School programme as they allow the student to gain a social, cultural and historical understanding of our country. Our course includes one half day excursion and one full day excursion PER WEEK.
